Preparation for UPSC Examination

Civil Service is not a job its a way to live your life uniquely.Its a opportunity to serve the people and served for the Nation.Its one of the way to connect with the people directly through administration.But it is not easy task to join Civil Service,it needs patient,dedication,hard work and perseverance.The process of examination is very long,many stages are there,and most importantly if you want to join civil service then you must have Belief and confidence on yourself. you should be very sincere very loyal to the studies. UPSC has a syllabus but there is no syllabus,there is no definite question pattern.but it is not impossible to do it.To crack the civil service examination it needs some smart strategies.It can not crack with overnight study, it takes time.
Its a wonderful journey.once you enter into this journey you will enjoy it..Civil Service is not only an exam it improves your thinking capacity,improve your way of thinking,your opinion and overall your personality.Seriously it is very wonderful journey and you will love to be a part of it...
I will share the pattern of UPSC examination below...........

There is a three stages in UPSC --1)preliminary 2)Mains 3)Personality Test.

Preliminary examination consists of two paper--GS paper and CSAT

Mains examination consists of Nine paper.---A)language paper(22 language in eight schedule of the Indian Constitution)
B)English language.Both paper (A) and (B)are qualifying papers.marks of these two papers are not included in the total.
1)Essay
2)GS 1(Indian &world History,Art&Culture,society, India & world geography)
3)GS 2(Indian Polity & Governance)
4)GS 3(Indian Economy,Science&Technology etc.)
5)GS 4(Ethics&Integrity)
6)Optional paper 1
7)optional paper 2.choose one subject from the list and there is two paper of the subject.
After qualifying Mains Examination you will go for Personality Test/Interview.
if you successfully clear all the stages of the prestigious examination you will get the services according to the Rank.

In the Prelims examination there is two paper 200 marks for each.But only GS 1 paper marks are added and CSAT paper is only qualifying in nature(need 33% to qualify).The preliminary examination is just a qualifying exam. The marks of prelims are not added to the final merit list.It is the exam to qualify for writing Mains. The final result will be based on the Mains and interview marks.
In the Mains exam marks are classified as follows.
paper A--300 marks
paper B--300 marks
paper 1-- 250 marks
paper 2--250 marks
paper 3--250 marks
paper 4--250 marks
paper 5&6(optional paper)--500 marks
Total--1750
Interview marks--275
Total marks --(1750+275=2025)
The final result or rank is based on the marks you obtained out of 2025 marks.
